Homework
Homework will be a regular feature throughout the year. Even though homework is not compulsory it is strongly encouraged to assist students in developing self-motivated work and study habits which will assist them throughout schooling and life. It is designed to consolidate what we are doing in class and allow students to highlight their personal interests.
Please note the following points regarding homework.
• Homework will regularly comprise of practising times tables and a sustained block of reading (about 20 minutes).
• Students will be using online maths programs to assist in consolidating the concepts covered in class. They will be accessing IXL maths and StudyLadder and can select the level they feel appropriate. If they are unsure I will assist them in selecting the appropriate level and concept. If in doubt times tables are always a good idea to practice.
• If you do not have an internet connection or working device at home, please ask your child to tell me and I will give them time to log on at school in place of another activity so that they can still give this activity a go.
IMPORTANT! If your child is having difficulty or you are unsure or concerned or it is not working for you and your family, please let me know. Homework should not be a source of frustration and anxiety. I am happy to chat and discuss alternative options.
